Get Wild With Your Work
at the 6th Annual Burlington Fringe Festival
Thursday, October 11 through Sunday, October 14, 2018.
The Burlington Fringe Festival, hosted at Off Center for the Dramatic Arts, is an opportunity for performing artists to take new chances, find new audiences, and for audiences to sample the independent theatre that is taking place in our community.
All genres are welcome; Solos, Plays, Puppets, Dance, Robots, Cabaret, Anti-theatre, Theayater, Comedy, Performance Art, Clowning etc.
What is Off Center looking to fill?
Thurs 10/11: “Blue Night” - 6 grown-up shows (kids will be eaten)
Fri & Sat 10/12-13: 12 shows, 6 per night, General Audience
Sunday 10/14: 6 Family-Friendly daytime shows
Each show has a strict 20 minute time limit, and must have a load-in/breakdown time of no more than 5 minutes each. The light plot should be simple, with few props & set pieces, and simple lights and sound cues. There will be a half-hour tech rehearsal the day of the show.
How do I apply to be in the festival?
Email your application to email@example.com with Fringe Application in the subject line.
Include the following details:
- Name of show and names/contact info of artist(s) or company
- Short (4 sentence max) description of the show including SIMPLE technical needs
- Short (4 sentence max) bios of the artists involved
- Interest in Blue Night Thursday (grown up audience, Friday and Sat (Gen Audience), or Sunday (Family Audiences) - or any combo.
How will shows be chosen?
4 shows per night will be awarded to the first applicants who apply after
OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS: 8:00 a.m. Friday, July 13.
2 shows per night will be chosen by the Off Center Fringe Committee.
DEADLINE: No applications will be considered after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3rd.
All artists will be notified by August 10th.
